The end of the iron ore train
Nouadhibou sits on a narrow peninsula on Mauritania's northern Atlantic coast and is the terminus of the Mauritania Railway, the line that carries iron ore from the mines around Zouérat. For our guests it is the moment of arrival: after a night crossing the Sahara on the iron ore train from Choum, the lights of the port appear around dawn.
